Can't find flash update for NAV50

I just got a 2GB RAM for my Aspire One NAV50 but when I install it, it doesn't boot or even POST, I just get a blank black screen. Why can't I find a BIOS flash for this model? When I enter the model or SNID, the Acer website gives me nothing.

I was going to say "it won't even accept my S/N, what's on my label is less than 22 characters long (expected by the site)" but I just now (before posting this message) found I was consistently skipping a couple digits.

    I'm trying to update the BIOS holding Fn+ESC when turning on the power but it never boots from the thumb drive I have the flash update files on, it just goes straight to Windows (the thumb drive is set as the first boot device with the HD as 2nd in BIOS boot settings). Why won't it run? Is there something I need to do to the thumb drive to make it bootable? That option was grayed out in Windows' Format utility.

    Hello,

    Your laptop is an Aspire One 532h (AO532h).

    Before to do anything:

    1- When you changed the memory stick, did you remove the battery?

    2- Have you tried with the older memory stick?

    3- You'll find below the memory part numbers (perhaps your stick isn't compatible):

    KN.2GB07.003SODIMM.2GB.DDR2-800.KIN.LF

    I did get the Windows flash utility (NAV50126.exe) to update my BIOS but it still won't boot with the 2GB stick. This is what I have http://www.ebay.com/itm/2GB-Memory-RAM-4-Acer-Aspire-One-KAV50-KAV60-NAV50-NAV60-Notebooks-/400379651262?ssPageName=ADME:X:eRTM:US:1123 (different label from what's pictured). The labels on the one I have are marked:

    4 All Memory  |||(barcode)|||
    B18 13642 100001797896
    13607-14-2014 Warranty Void If Removed

    2GB PC2-5300 (667Mhz) DDR2 SO-DIMM
    1010589 |||(barcode)||| 14-9341
    MT-0156 JN
    WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED

    1- No, I didn't remove the battery (main or BIOS).

    2- Putting the old 1GB stick back in does allow it to boot.

    It means your memory stick is not compatible. I give you a link for Samsung 2Gb - 800MHz (original part - same price).

    Got another 2GB stick (based on your info) and it works. The first was either incompatible or faulty.
