Did I purchase the correct replacement keyboard for my Acer Aspire 5750Z?
HI- I ordered a replacement keyboard for my Acer Spire 5750Z. It looks the exact same as my original one, but for the life of me I couldnt get the ribbon to stay in the slot.
I then compared the numbers on the back and they're different. I am just trying to figure out if I have lost my mind or not. My computer is out of warranty, so I can't contact Acer directly.
The original keyboard:
DFE Model Number: NSK-ALC1D
DFE p/N: 9z.N1H82.C1D
Compact P/N: PK130C92A00
KB KBI170A172211A95451800
The replacment keyboard I have:
Sunrex P/N: V104702AS3 UI
Compal P/N: PK130C91100
Ver.:INTE D/C.:327 Rev.:A00
S/N.:[edited for privacy]
KB KBI170A17232750ABC3400
Again, the keyboards look the exact same but I can't get the ribbon to attach. Just trying to make sure I actually have the correct keyboard before I take it into the repair place for help.
Thanks!!

That keyboard should work fine. Did you unlock the connector before you pulled out the ribbon cable?
Here’s how to unlock the keyboard connector.
Very carefully move the brown locking tab about 1 millimeter to the shown direction.

Replacement keyboards fit a number of different model Acers. If the ribbon
looks just like the one you took out, then it should go in and clip down
with the retainers on the motherboard. I have replaced a number of
keyboards with aftermarket boards from ebay with zero problems.
Maybe you should spend another 10.00 or so dollars and get a different
keyboard from ebay and try it. What color is it ? The black or off white
model ?
I found one on ebay using the part number you posted "PK130C92A00"
for around $12.00 and free shipping. I looked closely at the ribbon
and it matches the one you bought. I hope you didn't break the
retainers that hold the ribbon in place. That would be the start
of a lousy, lousy day..

Thank you so much for your informative reply! Right after I posted my question- I called a computer place around the corner and he told me that if all was needed, he'd slip it in the slot for me for free. It doesnt feel like it is all they way installed, my need to take it back (the buttons are setting firmly at the top.
Thank you again so much for you reply!!!!

Glad you were able to find help locally. The ribbons can be deceptive when
installed on the mb. Some of the ribbon will show even though it has fit
into the receptacle all the way. As long as the keyboard functions properly
with all keys doing what they're assigned to do, you should be good to go
and have learned more about your lappy than others in many instances.
That's ALWAYS a good thing when it comes to lappy's.
