My E700 failed to update.

I got the message that there is a new system update. I downloaded and tried to install but it gave a signature verification failure. My E700 is not rooted or anything current kernel 3.4.67 build Acer_AV0K0_E39_1.014.00_EMEA_GEN1

Does anyone have the same experiance and/or sollution?

    Update:

had contact with the support desk:

advice: factory reset and try again.

    This didn't work same error

Had the update but after restart kept crashing. Had to do factory reset, then the update was fine...

Sorry, that yours did not work.

Had anybody else with this update. After my recent experience i am afraid that other updates will end in a factory reset....

The signature error is strange, was you E700 with battery over 50% of charge?

    @Henk-Doe:

i updated mine from 1.014 to 1.018 without any issue, maybe some installed application caused that, by the way is not a correct behaviour for an OTA update.

@IronFly tried it with the battery over 90%, tried it with the charger attached same error.

I got a system file 1.014 from the acer helpdesk installed it and run the update again but no luck still signature verification error.

is your microSD formatted as FAT32?

did you copy the update.zip on the root of the microSD?

the re-installation of the current version from SD (1.014) was no problem. The helpdesk couldn't suppy me the 1.020 version.

We tried to solve the problem by reinstalling the current version from SD and then trying the update again. So updating from SD went OK and I am waiting on the helpdesk to supplie me with the 1.020 version.

I update 1.20 with no problems. The   !@#$@#@#$  think is that they do not have a change log so to know where are the improvements.

I just got update notification this morning. actually when i bought this device about 1 weeks ago, it's already 4.4.2, but i don't check the details on the build number. after update, now is 1.019.00 i think. new feature in the personal menu, there is an option for Flip wake up.

    Yes!!!!,

Sollution Descriped in the german post works:

-download the update but don't restart and install

-copy the file update.zip from the map ALU in the root to the root of the SD card

-Now start the restart and install proces (about phone systemupdates check for updates etc)

-when you get signature verification failed choose update from SD and choose the update.zip file on the SD card

    -Start update

I now have kernel 3.4.67 and acer build Acer_AV0K0_E39_1.020.00_EMEA_GEN1

This error is something related to folder permit or some kind of recovery bug.

    not good.

This weekend i had the 1.022 update. The update worked without a problem Smiley Happy I don't know what changed but i didn't have de signature verification error. Looks like it was a 1.020 specific thing.
