Charging Indicator on w4-820 Not Lighting

Hello, have a question.  Looked around forums, noticed no one else asked it, so assuming no one else is experiencing it.

I bought an Acer W4-820 Windows 8.1 tablet from Amazon.  I only have had it a week.  I noticed tonight when I went to go charge it, the indicator light didn't come on.  I tried different USB cables, no light.

Anyone else experience this?  I have it plugged in hoping that it will still charge.  I am a little worried becasue this is a laptop replacement for me.  I will be using it on business trips.  I have all my software development tools installed and I really don't want to send it back.  Also I sold my laptop so I am stick with my Android tablet for travel if the Acer doesn't charge.  But I can't run Visual Studio on my Android tablet, unless I virtualize Windows 7 on Android, which would suck for performance.

I turned the tablet on and Windows isn't showing it charging.

Can anyone give me some ideas?  THanks..

    Are you using the original charger and cable? The original charger is 5.35V @ 2A. The tablet needs to see a specific voltage level or it will not charge. On top of that, some USB cables are made with too small of a wire gauge to support the current draw of the tablet, which leads to voltage drop, which leads to the tablet not charging.

    I tried everything, it won't charge.  I am using the charger that came with the tablet and went through every cable in the house just to be sure, none work.  Sending it back...  I will request another one.

    You could also try updating the BIOS if it's not already on the latest version 1.15.

    I just purchased a W4-820 as well recieved it 1 week ago and my chargeing light doesn't work either.  Did you ever get yours working?

    I had to send it back to Amazon.  They sent a new one.  Everything is working now.  Don't know what happened exactly, but I am suspecting it shorted out because a few times I used my phone charger to charge the tablet.

    I have now marked my tablet charger and usb cable that came with the tablet, so this won't happen again.   But still not sure that was the reason for the problem.

    If I were you, return it and get another. The tablet is great though.  I have been using as a full desktop hooked to my monitor.  Performs excellent!

    @Plastixx - FYI

    I noticed when I turned this replacement tablet on, during the update process, it automatically installs the BIOS 1.15.  I guess Acer wants to make sure the tablet has got the latest BIOS.

    Pretty cool...  That was my first plan when I turned it on, to download and update the bios, but they did it automatically.
