Boot Issue-Acer Aspire M5-581T-6807

Hi! Looking for a little help-not sure what to make of it...

My aspire seems to hang at Acer logo screen then reboots...continuosly.

If I going into F12 -Boot Manager-and select my hard drive from there-It boots fine...a little slow-but boots. I can access OS...all profiles...all seems ok. checked hard drive-in a healthy status and so are the partitions.

Did a chkdsk and no errors...not sure what happened to cause this..my kid could have shut it off improperly by holding the power button...but other than that-not sure what to do.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

RB

I would enter the BIOS pressing F2 at boot and look for a settings like "load optimized default" or "load default settings", save and exit, then try to boot normally.

    Hello IronFly,

Thank You so much for your input.

I accessed the bios and selected set bios to default and rebooted and still the same issue...so I hit f12 and selected my hard drive and it then booted.

I also tried a 'startup repair'  located in recovery and there was nothing to repair as reported by the log in the c:\windows\system32\logfile\srt\srt\srttrail.txt

    A few dumb questions:

    I am using windows 8.1, 64bit, 6gb ram, 500 gb hd

Is there a corrupt boot file?

or could a bad battery be causing this?

i really don't want to try a full restore if it won't fix the issue.

There are no errors during post

The acer logo comes up-hangs for a bit then shuts down-then repeats until I go hit f12 and select my drive in boot manager.

The bios is very scaled down...not too many changes can be made...and I tried legacy bios and still get same issue.

    Any other ideas?

    Thank You,

    RB

    Hi Ironfly,

When I go into F2-Bios, my boot order is:

    1. Windows boot manager

    2.HDD0:

    3. HDD1:

    4. Atapi cdrom

    5.  USB FDD

    6. Network boot ipv 4

    7. USB HDD

    8. USB CDrom

    9. Network boot ipv 6

    My boot mode is  UEFI

    Secure boot enabled.

    Thank You for your help,

    RB

    The boot list is correct.

Assuming that HDD is ok, i suspect some motherboard issue, try to contact Acer support service.
