How to delete the recovery partition from an Aspire Switch 10?

Hi,

Maybe this should be in forum location "Windows Tablets", but Acer seems to categorize the Switch as a laptop... which is weird, since the W510 appearantly is a Tablet. Anyhow...

I have a 64GB Switch (SW5-011, Win8.1) and I have created a recovery USB-stick, with the hope to then delete the recovery partition from the SSD. To create the recovery disc I used Acer Recovery Management and in the beginning of the process I get the note (translated from Swedish): "When you have created the security copy, you can delete the recovery partition to free up space" and what looks like a link, but it is not clickable: "Remove the recovery partition". See pic below. After clicking OK, Windows own "Create a recovery drive" starts. When its finished, it just closes. There is not option to delete the recovery partition.

I've also tried running "Create a recovery drive" without using Acer Recovery Management but the process is the same.

Also, in this Acer article:

http://acer-scandic.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26286

it is stated: 6. Click Create. When asked to delete the recovery partition from your computer, click No.

But I never got this question.

The recovery partition cannot be deleted from Windows disc manager. I did try deleting it using EaseUS which resulted in a total system crash and me having to utilize my USB-recovery (which was NOT easy to get started, but thats another thread Smiley Happy

Has anyone had this issue or have succesfully removed the recovery partition? Please assist.

BR Erik

Not much help I'm afraid. I just bought a acer switch 10 64gb machine and have the same problem; there is no option to delete the recovery partition once the usb recovery disk is created, even though the manual says there is.

Also tried easus and many others, but none will allow me to delete the partition. It seems it is protected, so also looking for a solution.

See my earlier thread of a few days ago.

Will let you kmow if I find a way to do this.

    Cheers
