My Liquid Z3 duo cannot read a pen drive. Should it be able to?

I believe that I should be able to read the contents of a pen drive via file manager but I cannot. How do I make an SB drive readable? Thank you.

    USB pen drive OTG is not supported.

    Thanks for that straightforward response. Is there a work around that you know of? Would be keen to hear if there is one that doesn't put the OS at risk. Strange lapse by Acer but each to their own. At least it doesn't bend in my pocket.
