Hi,

I offred for my mom's birthday this tablet, like 6 month ago everything was runing fine, she was using with it a usb Hub and a mouse wireless (not bluetooth) with a dongle. And recently shel had this problem, she couln't use the mouse or the hub. So since i tried everything, reinstalled windows, passed from windows 8.1 to 8, tried an system found on internet, and now i'm back with the system reinstalled withe the recovery dvds. And the probleme's always the same the only thing working are usb memorie. when i plug for exemple the hub it says usb device unroconize (something like that) and it's the same for the mouse.

If I am understanding you correctly the USB port recognizes USB storage but not the USB hub or mouse? Do these external devices work on another computer? I see you have done a lot of other troubleshooting steps that I would have suggested. I would recommend contacting technical support in your region as the unit may require service.

I wonder if the problem might be the hub itself... I've had a few go bad over the years. Does the wireless mouse dongle work if plugged directly into the tablet?

Hi. Did you find a solution to this?

I have the Iconia W700 as well and seems the Cradle(USB powered hub) stand is no longer working after some windows8 automatic updates get installed.

I already sent it back to ACER for repair and they just re-installed windows 8, but auto updates broke it again.

The cradle ports worked ok before auto-updates took over, so it's not a HW problem.

Installing the cradle drivers or BIOS from the ACER support page does not help fix the problem.

Any ideas welcome. Don't particularly want to rollback/recover since the windows 8 updates will need to be installed time after time. Surely it's just some generic USB hub driver thing ?
