Aspire E1-531 "No Webcam device found". Windows 8

Member Posts: 7 New User

The hardware device is not connected to the computer. And how could I connect this hardware device to the computer. That's why I can't install the HD Webcam driver. So what should do?

The backup for Windows 8, as listed in the two articles I linked above, ships with the system.  You do not require additional media to refresh or restore the system.

I'm wondering why you have the unidentified Base System Devices x2 listed in Device Manager.

Have you changed the operating system?  Did you upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows 7?

Can you please provide a part number for the system?

Is this an upgrade to Windows 8?

What is showing in Device Manager?

Anything with an exclamation point or red X on it?

    When did this occur?

That's one of my problem too.. It just bought in London and I try online support but the SNID and S/N it keep on saying not validate. Anyway, SNID: 23410136116, S/N: NXM12EK00523418BF11601

    not upgraded.

theirs 2 exclamation point its Database System Device only.

After few days it didn't work. Maybe my friend unintensionally unistall webcam.

I try to download driver from acer site but unfortunately its shows "no webcam device found". Then I decided to use system restore.. in the beginning of restore point -- nothing happens.

As you state, a system restore or refresh for Windows 8 should resolve the issue, if it is a software issue.

I'll link our articles for Windows 8 reloading here:

Create a Acer Factory Default Backup in Windows 8

Using Acer Recovery Management to Refresh Windows 8

Using Acer Recovery Management to Restore Windows 8

If none of this works, and the device is not available in Device Manager, there may be a hardware issue.

For a hardware issue, I can only suggest that you contact service: Acer Service and Support

How did you "reinstall" Windows 8?

Did you use the factory recovery as outlined in these articles?

You should not have missing hardware drivers in Device Manager if you recovered the system with the factory load.

If you used a retail copy of Windows 8, you will no longer have Acer utilities, like eRecovery, as an option on the system.

Wait! Device Status: Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
