I have a zx6970 which worked until we had a power surge.  Now I plug the power supply into the unit and the power supply light goes out and no power to the unit.  I tried a different outlet and a different power supply and the same thing.  Any suggestions.

I'm not trying to be a clown here or anything but you pretty much explained the cause of your computer malfunction.

However, there are things you can try doing - Remove the BIOS Battery and reseat it

Remove the Ram for 1 hour and reseat it

If there is a power connection going from the PSU to the motherboard (usually a white connector) unplug that as well.

You did not mention that you tried to see if other appliances work besides the computer.

You could have a slight case of a fried PSU and perhaps its rescuable replacing the PSU unless the motherboard was taken out at the same time. Check on the motherboard for overloaded capacitors and see if they are bulging  (leaking out stuff)

Thanks for the suggestions but I have already done all that you suggested.  I think it must be the MB but was hoping for a cure with a heat gun or iron.
