I have an Aspire R7-571 that boots to a blue Recovery screen error File: \BCD Error code: 0xc0000098

I can reach the setup utility and a command prompt (CHKDSK didn't fix this problem), but I think I've reach the point I need to find my product key and create a windows recovery file.  And of course I can't find the recovery file I made.

Microsoft says I should consult my computer's manufacturer for my product key, and the online support has disconnected me 3 times (I guess they don't answer that kind of question).  Is there hope?

    Hello,

Did you try to enter this to the command prompt?:  bootrec /RebuildBcd

Just test it, maybe it works!

    regards

The bootrec /RebuildBcd command worked!  Thanks ever to much.
