There seem to be two versions of Acer Aspire Switch 10.

As far as I can tell, the differences are as follows:

SW5-011

SW5-012

Processor

Intel Z3745

Intel Z3735F

Display

1366 x 768 (16:9)

1280 x 800 (16:10)

Operating System

Windows 8.1

Windows 8.1 With Bing

Office

Office 2013 Home & Student

(perpetual license)

Office 365 Personal

(1 year subscription)

Are these differences correct? I ask for confirmation because some retailers list the different OS and Office version in SW5-012, whilst others do not.

Are there any other differences?

I prefer the screen ratio  on SW5-012, but am a bit concerned that the processor is different than the one in SW5-011.

Is it a significantly different processor? Will performance and battery life be worse on the SW5-012 than the SW5-011 due to different processor?

Thanks

    I think there are 3 versions based on the Acer firmware/driver download section ,  SW5-011,  SW5-012 & SW5-012P

I'm using the SW5-012,comes with Office 2013 home & student and 64gb internal storage

In terms of processor SW5-12 runs on 1.33ghz/1.88ghz w/ Intel boost

    SW5-11 on 1.33ghz/1.86ghz w/ Intel boost.

Oddly I realised that the button orientation on my Switch 10 is different from those shown on the website. The Windows button on mine is on the right side along with the power & volume button instead of on the centre above the Acer logo.

I was trying to buy a casing for my Switch 10 but could not find any compatible with mine!

I just did a comparison of the Switch 10 versions on the Acer website in the context of the announcement of the new Switch 10s coming later this month. It looks like the SW5-011 are the older versions, the SW5-012 are the newer versions (with a hardware Windows button on the tablet, a slightly different processor, different RAM, and a different resolution). The SW5-012P is the Windows 8.1 PRO version and will be more expensive for it.

@eepok, SW5-012 was on sale for a long time prior to this week's announcements.

osm -- Where could it be purchased? I've seen it on the website, but nowhere that is willing to both sell *and* deliver it. Everywhere I've looked says they're selling it, but then turn around and say they won't deliver until late September.

Here's a couple of examples where its on sale and listed as in stock. But I've never actually tried to order one and see if they make good on immediate delivery, so you might be right.

We've had some good discussion here from interested fans of Acer products -- Could someone from Acer speak to when the new Switch 10s will be available for purchase? Maybe which retailers will be selling them? Newegg, TigerDirect, Fry's, Amazon, Acer Store, etc.

I've read that they are available but Amazon has it listed as shipping in 3-5 weeks. It would be nice to get a response from acer. Also there are 2 models selling for $349 and $379 that have the exact same specs. If someone could explain the difference that would be splendid.
