Iconia w4 Hangup or Freezes when Charging

Everytime I charge my Iconia w4 tablet, it always freezes or hangs up.

Here's the error I found in the event viewer

The description for Event ID 1 from source DptfPolicyLpmService cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

DptfPolicyLpmService
ServiceMainThread: App specific mode was turned off, but timer was not running.

I also found the following log which I think can help solve this problem:

The Software Protection service has started.
6.3.9600.16497

Successfully scheduled Software Protection service for re-start at 2014-07-03T04:59:37Z. Reason: RulesEngine.

The Software Protection service has stopped.

That was the last 3 messages I found in the event viewer.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Are you using the charger that came with your tablet?

Are you using any type of usb adapter or hub?

Have you tried resetting the tablet to see if that will fix it?

    Hi,

Yes, of course. I am using the charger that came with the table. I have already reset the tablet. And the error became worse. It now hangs up even if I'm charging the tablet.

I am also encountering this same freeze while charging problem. I have not been able to trace it as deeply (and am not as ready to attribute it) to the "DptfPolicyLpmService" as you have.

However, I do have the same entry in my logs. The timing is about a minute off (later) from the shutdowns. The shutdowns are recorded in the Event Viewer as "Kernel-Power" (Event ID 31).

I've tried updating the BIOS and drivers to no avail and am contact Acer today.

I'm ready to return this tablet. Did you ever receive a resolution from Acer?

I returned the item for repair and after the repair, I return it again due to weak signal of WIFI. But I think the freeze problem has already fixed when I test the tablet.

I have my acer iconia again. Acer has actually change the motherboard of my tablet. For the weak signal, they just resetted the antenna.
