Acer Aspire E5-571G Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered

Just recently bought E5-571G 64bit and while playing Path of Exile for about 1.5 hours, it freezes and shows "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version 332.35 stopped responding and has successfully recovered." I waited for a few minutes but it still in frozen state. I checked and tried to update the Intel and NVIDIA GeForce 840M drivers but it said the drivers are up to date. Please kindly advise how to resolve this.

    Hi,

sometimes it happens that Nvidia drivers will freeze or lock.

if no update is available now, you need to wait until there will be one.

The NVIDIA drivers installed on your system are from the Acer website?

In Device Manager\Display Adapters settings, I just clicked the Update Driver Software on NVIDIA Geforce 840M and selected "Search automatically for updated driver software". It then shows "The best driver software for your device is already installed". Should I update it on ACER website for display drivers?

it would be better to check on Acer website and download from here:

    http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers/5385;-;Aspire%20E5-571G

By the way yours looks newest than the Acer drivers, so i suggest you to download it from Nvidia website:

    http://www.geforce.com/drivers

    337.88

Remember that sometimes Nvidia drivers will not install on OEM notebooks, so you need to use Acer Nvidia drivers.

In this link http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers/5385;-;Aspire%20E5-571G, the driver versions are the same wih my notebook. However, the acer site has a more recent date updates. Please advise.

You need to wait a newer version from Acer if you don't want to try Nvidia one.
