Black screen

I'm hoping I can get some help. I got a message stating my computer would shut down in 5min for an upgrade. It did so and I could see the percentage rising of the upgrade being completed. I was then directed by the laptop to log in to my profile but my screen is completely black. I have an Aspire E 11. If I press the clt+alt+del the task manger pops up. So the computer works it's my screen that's black. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This happens because windows auto installed new VGA drivers and it messed up the setup during reboot.

    let's try the quickest way:

ctrl + alt + delete > Task Manager > Run new task > control panel

    click device device manager

    click Display adapters

right click on your VGA and click uninstall

    reboot

When I type in control panel under run new task I get an error message that says server execution failed.

    Not good.

    try this:

ctrl + alt + delete > Task Manager > Run new task > CMD

    press enter

    on CMD windows write

    sfc /scannow

press enter and wait until it finishes and ty to reboot

Now the message I get is "you must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility."

If you have a restore point saved, the best thing is to go back a week or so and see if you can fix it.

Press Windows logo key + R

    write

    shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00

    press enter

    or

ctrl + alt + delete > Task Manager > Run new task > CMD

    Tick for Administrative privileges

    press enter

    on CMD windows write

    shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00

Then choose troubleshot and Restore or Refresh and follow instructions
