I think that settings will be:

system settings/wireless & network/tap on ethernet label (not the switch)

i don't know if you can modify tapping over the informations on the right side.

TY IronFly. Do you own one of these?

I've done that and on the right side I have:    Mac address and IP address(disabled).

When I switch Ethernet to "ON" the  IP address changes from (diabled) to (disconnected) Maybe that will change when I connect the cat5 from my reciever.

Also when I turn on the Wi-Fi: At the top rt corner there is also: scan, add network and Advanced.

scan - Shows the correct IP address but it's "Not in range"

Add Network - opens up another chain of sub-windows that confuses me

Advanced - just get gives a Mac address & Notify me when an open network becomes available.

Still in: Settings / Wireless & Networks / more    I get: VPN,  tethering/portable hotspot and Wakeup on LAN

With my desktop PC's I input the info under the connections tab - LAN settings

I'll let you know if I get it working or not. I'll give you a Kudos for the fast reply,OK?

If any of the above helps you pointing me in the correct direction let me know.

Yes it's correct, you need to connect the Lan cable to have IP assigned or perhaps able to manually assign.

I don't know exactly where you can set manually your settings but i would try, doing a long tap on the IP or look at the top right corner and see if something is available

Also when I turn on the Wi-Fi: At the top rt corner there is also: scan, add network and Advanced.

When you enable WiFi, you will be notified if a network is available.

do a long tap on that network, you will have a popup with "modify network", tap it

on the next popup, scroll down and tick "show advanced options"

scroll down again and tap on "IPv4 settings"

you will have 2 options "DHCP" (automatic), "static" (manual)

choose "static" and insert your settings.

Always remember to do a connection at time, you can't have both enabled.
