WHS2011 Backup Issue - Does the W700 boot from a MBR partition?

I have a WHS2011 running as my backup solution in my home network. While it works very well with all my Win7 devices I had to find out that it does NOT support GPT partitions (throws a not very telling VVS error). The "easiest" solution would be to switch from GPT to MBR by saving the whole disk to a image (with ATI2013) delete the partition and setup new ones with MBR and then restore the image backup. But before I do that I wonder if somebody knows if the W8 installation would boot from the MBR disk then. Thanks a bunch :-)

Update January 7th: ACER support states that Windows "needs" the GPT partition and the Secure boot feature which kind of surpises me as I have read that that some users have disabled the secure boot function (after setting a BIOS password) and did not say that W8 wasn't booting any longer.

Looking at the Microsoft TechNet forums, I found this thread:

Can WS2012E Backup/Restore Client PCs that Use UEFI/GPT?

    In that thread, LimingHong says:

I cannot give you confirmed answer for now but this is listed as an early feature candiate for the next Update Rollup of WHS 2011.

    Thanks

Hi & Thanks for pointing me to this posting. I came across this posting as well when searching the web about the issue :-) I keep fingers crossed that it will be in the next Rollup, because the one from Dec 2012 did not have it :-(
