Bluetooth not showing up in Device Manager

I have an Acer Aspire 5755G running windows 7 64 bit, not had any previous problems with it before now. I updated my drivers: Specifically the graphics card drivers (direct from NVIDIA), did a windows update and let it grab everything there. I also grabbed the drivers forthe wireless network card and the bluetooth directly from Acer.

Now my wireless internet connections drops out less, it's stable for about half an hour or so. But my bluetooth isn't working any more. It doesn't even show up in Device Manager.

On Device manager, click on "view" tab and select "show hidden devices".

    is your BT device listed?

There's any hardware switch/button to enable BT on your laptop?

On Programs and Features, the driver installer is listed?

It doesn't show up at all under "hidden devoces".

The Fn+F3 key that brings up the launcher manager says that bluetooth is on.

Under local services the bluetooth is enabled and active.

And the driver lists as being installed

    Ok, let's try this:

Turn OFF the BT from the launcher manager

    uninstall BT drivers and reboot

check on device manager if BT is available or has an yellow exclamation mark.

I would check in BIOS too if any BT options is available, not sure there is one to be honest.

BT service is enabled and set to automatic?

the launch manager still has BT enabled?

Try to install the drivers now.

If it's not an hardware failure, there must be a driver conflict.

Are you sure you downloaded the correct drivers for your BT adapter?

On acer website, i noticed two available BT adapters drivers to download.

Turns out it was a driver conflict with the MotionInJoy drivers. Once they were removed it all went back to normal Smiley Happy
