Acer Aspire M5 is stuck on please wait screen

Please help. My computer went to go do an update, the update failed, and then it told me to wait. So I waited.... And I waited.... And waited.... It has literally been 2 months since it's been like this. I'm not sure what to do now. I've tried reseting it, tried to boot it into safe mode, I even ordered acer e-recovery discs and the **bleep** computer still doesn't work. I really need your help, I've ran out of solutions.

    Factory-installed Win8 or an upgrade from Win7?

    Thanks

OK. Back to the beginning again. Was it a Windows update?

Also, by any chance is an Acer logo with the F2 bios menu option displayed when you boot?

Yes. It said Configuring Windows Update. Then it said, Failed to Configure Windows Reverting back. Then the please wait screen of death appeared.

And no. No option is displayed at startup. Just the logo, a black screen, followed by the words please wait and a loading icon.

Are you still within the warranty period?

Yeah, two months. Unfortunately, I am not. I believe I bought this computer in Jan 2013.

I'm gonna guess the update somehow affected your HDD, not the SSD. The SSD should have the guts of the Win8 operating system in order to start. At the moment I can't think of anything else to try except to pull the HDD to see if you at least can get the system to boot from the SSD alone. Then we can proceed from there if it does boot. Unfortunately, pulling the HDD seems like a chore for the 581T  according to this link.
