Greetings everyone. I seem to have lost the CD/DVD function altogether on my Acer.

Problem is I don't know the model I have. Someone bought it for me and I didn't get any papers. The label on the tower shows

GFC 02021 but the info. on the PC itself shows G185H. Once I know what I have I can see about getting my CD back.Thanks.

    Hello zollie,

In the bios setup utility, you'll find your serial number S/N (don't communicate it).

The first ten letter/number are the part number of your desktop.

With this one, I'll find the model.

To enter the bios setup utility:

    1- Start your desktop.

2- When you see the Acer screen, press the key [F2]

    3- Note the S/N

    4- Exit without save

Perhaps you'll find it too on the label of the tower under the bar code. You have need nothing else.

several FREE programs will find what you have and tell you. one of the best is BELARC. it is FREE, install and let it run. or you might also ask MS to tell you, MS is also FREE. logo + X see run type msinfo32 click enter and look under hardware... lots of nice info there. let me know if you still need . lots of way to find.. 1st 2 are really easy.
