Using HDMI and Headphone jack at the same time.

I have the Acer Aspire V3-771G-6851 and I am wondering if there is a setting that allows the headphone jack to output audio while the HDMI is connected.  Currently when I connect the HDMI the headphone shuts off.

Thanks

Yes.  I know.  But I'm trying to run HDMI to a projector (via HDMI-DVI adapter) for video, and Composite (RCA Red & White) to an older theater-in-a-box type receiver for audio.  This is our outdoor theater setup.

I should also add that this laptop has Windows 8 on it.

In the audio control panel you should be ale to set default device to the headphone jack. and turn off the audio settign for the monitor/hdmi. At least yo ucan in windows 7 and 8.

On my 771g it doesn't turn off headphone when plugged in.

yes there is a setting for it, i dont know windows 8, but in windows 7 you click the audio, control options, and check the headphone jack instead of the hdmi cable.

my windows 7 machine does the hdmi, and i can turn on the laptop speakers, and the audio out as well at the same time..

    good luck!
