Hi, I'm having battery issues with my Acer Aspire Timeline X 5830TG model with upgrading to Win 8 pro. It seems to be a problem with other folks on different laptop, netbooks, etc.... I have changed from balanced power savings to power savings with no difference in total battery capacity. I used to get 8-10 hrs. on a charge with Win 7 but now with the upgrade to win 8 pro I only get 2-2.5 hrs. and drains fast. Fan seems to continuously run unlike with win 7 when it seemed to just cycle off and on? Don't know on that....BIOS is updated with all the drivers and applications with the upgrade assistance software for Win 8 upgrade also.

I read on another microsoft forum to update the acpi driver (power management) but did not see that file on acer driver update for win 8. I have looked at the task manager and CPU is running at steady 28-30% which seems high when I saw it a 5% or below at times in win 7?

Anyway is there a fix for this or is this pretty much permanent with win 8?

Thanks for any information!

Ty
