this monitor worked correctly on windows 7, the serial is snid: [edited for privacy]

Now I upgraded my acer desktop pc to windows 8 and I can only select a 4:3 maximum resolution of 1280x1024.

There are no 16:9 resolutions available so I can't correctly put it at 1440x900.

The graphic card is correctly installed with latest available ati drivers, it's a radeon x1250.

Please help.

I don't know who you spoke to anyway it turned out the problem was a faulty vga cable, replacing it with a new one was the solution.

What computer is this connected to?

What is showing for the monitor in Device Manager?

it's connected to an acer desktop with ati radeon x1250 embedded graphic card and the monitor is listed as x192w (not generic vga)

Try re-downloading the drivers. It sounds like when you upgraded to win8, the drivers got over wrote and it is using the generic windows drivers that came with the OS. This is actually not that unusual on a OS upgrade.

I'm not a newbie I can see if it's using general vga drivers or the monitor correct drivers

so, here we go, the monitor is connected to an Acer Aspire t671-hb7z desktop computer.

As you can see from the pictures the monitor is recognized as x192w but 16:9 resolutions are unavailable.

It seems the drivers are not working in Windows 8 64bit. Please release working drivers.

    x192w

    x192w no 16:9 resolutions

I have checked with the final authority on our ability to provide a Windows 8 driver for this model.

There will not be a Windows 8 driver.
