BIOS vs. BIOS for Linux on the support page

Member Posts: 4 New User

Hi all,

On Acer's support page I can see BIOS updates tagged with "for linux" alongside "regular" BIOS updates.

I didn't know there's a relation between a BIOS and the installed OS.

Beside the obvious answer - "it's for linux", what are the differences between them?

Thanks,

Biff

It's just about the bios installer software.

No difference on bios itself if version is the same, just the software that update it will run on windows OS or linux OS.
    I'm not an Acer employee.

Thank you. That clarified what I suspected.

One more question, when updating BIOS should it be done incrementaly? starting from version 1 to 2, then 3?
