Hi there,
Is there anyone on here who has the new Acer Iconia A1-830 help me figure out whether it supports Mircast. Can you please check your A1-830 and see whether the Mircast option is there in Settings>Display>Wireless Display(Miracast).

I have found no concrete information on the world wide web regarding this. I would be grateful if anyone could help me out with this.

Thanks.

Under Settings;Device;Display I only see Brightness, Wallpaper, Sleep, Daydream and Font size. Do you need to have an app installed first?

Thanks for your help. This confirms that Acer has given no display output support on the new A1-830. Neither Miracast nor an HDMI like its predecesser A1-810.

Not sure why Acer is so reluctant to offer Miracast support in their tabs, when it's not a hardware feature that will cost them in monetary terms. Even the new ones which are being put out on the market don't have the Miracast support.

And there is NO app that can activate Miracast on a tablet. It's activated and given as an option by the manufacturer.

Sadly, the only reason to buy A1-830 is its design which closely resembles the iPad mini. Not enough of a reason for me to go for it.

I will gladly settle for the older A1-810 with a handy micro HDMI port, even though it too doesn't support Miracast. It has a better battery life as well compared to the new A1-830.

    Easy choice for me now.

    Thanks once again. Smiley Happy
