Acer Aspire 5742 - doubt re. card reader

Hi,

I have a question related to Acer Aspire 5742-5464G32Mncc:

The built-in SD card reader, does it support (both for reading and writing) also the SDHC cards (up to 32 GB) or only the standard SD ones (up to 2 GB)?

I would truly appreciate any clear up with regards to this matter (as I certainly don't wanna risk damaging the SDHC card and/or the built-in card reader due to misuse of an unsupported card).

Thanks in advance.

i can't find any information if SDHC is fully supported, by the way you will not damage your SDHC card if card reader supports only SD, simply the card will not be read.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

Thank you for the quick feedback.

But so, you say that there's no risk of damaging an SDHC card if card reader supports only SD, yes? Hmm, and would this be valid also for the card reader? No chance of it eventually getting damaged by using an unsupported card in it? This is my ultimate fear, as obvious, and I would much appreciate any words that would reassure about it... Smiley Happy Can I then be absolutely safe, trying the SDHC card in the built-in card reader, even if only to conclude that it isn't supported, ok, but I really take no risk of inadvertently causing any kind of damage to either of them, the card nor the card reader?

Thanks again if anyone can confirm on this...

My biggest fear is if there is the chance of damaging the card reader simply by using an unsupported type of card in it and render it, the card reader, unusable... Is this an even justified fear I wonder? Anyone with experience with such situation who can confirm whether using an unsupported type of card in a card reader can cause any kind of damage to it (the card reader I mean)? Thank you again...
