Recovery CD transferred to USB

I have a Iconia W700 windows 8.0. Updated to 8.1 and the whole thing fell apart. Basically useless at this point. Wanted to wipe it and start anew. Went to the recycle option and it said it was missing files. Read up on it and it was a known issue. Contacted Acer and they said the 64g must use the recovery CD's because it does not have the cpacity to be wiped as it has no partition. Not sure I believe that but whatever.

Anyway. Now I have no external dvd and a useless tablet and I do not want to drop 30 bucks on an external dvd that I will never use it again.

Is there anyway to transfer the info from the recovery disk to a USB? Like burn an ISO and then transfer it on to the USB?

Thanks in advance.

Short answer is yes, there have been a number of people that have reported here that they have been successful in the process. There's at least one file you have to edit after copying the contents of the DVDs over to a thumb drive and you have to do some BIOS tweaking to allow boot from USB. Search the forums for a bit and you will find more detailed examples. I didn't have any problems with my 8.1 upgrade, so haven't had to go through the process myself though...

Yeah, I searched the forums and did not find anything. Guess I should dig deeper.
