Hi everyone,

A500 tablet which had ICS update installed.

Perhaps someone can help before I take a sledgehammer to the tablet.

History, my A500 tablet froze, could not do anything.

I tried a hard reset several times still did not work.

I put "update.zip" on my SD card and did a "volume, power etc  and only got  the android icon fallen over and exclamation mark. That did not work.

I put previous android OS on SD card renamed it "update.zip"  Then everything seemed to start going fine I got a screen whcih said "tablet reconfiguring, do not switch off" on the reboot I then got a blank screen with "boot verified failed" in red at the top of the screen.

I then connected the tablet to the PC hoping I could do something with the "bootloader v0.03.12-ics: starting fastboot usb download protocol" and whillst it showed up in my "device setting" and stated abd working correcting I could not do anything.

I have sent a message to ACER support.

My A500 is out of warranty and 3 years old.

Can anyone help before the machine goes in the bin.

Kind regards,

Ivor

Probably you have a locked ICS bootloader and trying to flash an older OS version, this is way you have a "boot verified failed".

you can try to follow this guide to fix it (not mine and not Acer official!!!):

Seen this link before.  Tried everthing and got nowhere, not clued up enough to go down the adb route and android operating system on my pc.   I will not be going for out of warrantly repair but bin it and by an ipad.

Thanks for trying to help very much appreciated.

Another option will be the APX flash but it's not the easiest way and we can't talk it here but google is your friend.

Yes, do not think I have anything to lose, I am sure it is not an hardware problem, boot files are corrupt.

One question perhaps you could answer, I have download zip file for this, now should I unzip and load onto my SD Card? and then reboot tablet?
