I have an Acer EI531.  When I try to type a question mark I get é  brackets, I get è and other keys I get incorrect letters or symbols.  How do I change the key pad to strike correctly ééé  I have had the laptop for six months and the problems has always been there.  I have searched the Manuel and can not find any way to correct the key strokes.

Please make some sugestions.

Thanks Ron.

  • Try changing the regional Language settings, switch to different language(US to UK) or the otherway around and switch back to your original Language region, if that doesn't work, try uninstalling Acer Launch Manager and re-install after downloading from acer support.

Get rid of the CANADIAN English

    only permanent solution.

it is an accented e for the FRENCH language, the language settings on the keyboard gives the error because of the Canadian systems supporting both languages.

if you don't want to deal with the incorrect spelling problems of switching to US english for locale, then when you get the symbol, reboot the system [ complete power down and power up. ]

    Control Panel

    regional and language settings

change default language to English US [ region US ]

save, restart computer. [ for new language to take effect ]

then the keyboard doesn't get the bilingual keyboard support activated.
