The most common reason you get a no bootable device error is because the harddrive that contains the operating system is not being recognized. There are 2 general reasons:

    1. The harddrive connection has become lose, try reseating your harddrive if possible.

    2. The harddrive has crashed and the computer can no longer read the harddrive to load the operating system. Generally you can check the BIOS to see if the harddrive is recognized

Hope this helps, feel free to ask if you need help with either of those steps.

What model Acer do you have? I'll see if I can find some images of your exact computer in the morning and post them.

It's an Aspire 4810TZ-4120. I'll check back tomorrow. Thanks!

Alright, here are some steps on how to reseat your hard drive. You'll need a small phillips head screw driver to remove the back panel. The first image shows the unit without the platic cover. You can ignore the red circle in the middle (I'm repurposing this image. Smiley Happy The lower right hand corner is the HDD bay (there is no HDD in the bay in this picture) and I've added a red square around that space.

You'll need to unscrew all off the screws from the plastic cover (I don't believe they'll actually come out of the plastic cover, that's by design) and pull the cover off. It will be a bit resistant because there are plastic snaps that help hold in in place. Just go slow and apply consistent pressure when attempting to remove the cover.

So the HDD has a set of contacts that it will slip right into its connection and if for some reason it's not making contact, it give the error that you're seeing. Here is an image of the HDD, I've highlighted the contacts that you need to worry about. The HDD connection is orientated towards the center of the unit if that heps. If it is not seated, they've probably just slightly slipped out and pushing the harddrive firming into place will correct the issue. Your HDD will be in a bracket, so it may look slightly different than this image, but the contacts should be connected or visable.

Let me know if this helps.
