How do I make a Vista recovery disk from my Acer Aspire X1200 desktop

Helping a friend. Hard drive is getting flaky.  Got it to boot again. Owner doesn't have the original Vista Home Premium 64 bit recovery disks, (if it came with one) and I don't see the Acer erecovery option coming up. How do i make the recovery disk from the computer while it is still up and running in case we have to replace the hard drive in the future?

thanks

Ron

    Hello dresdenron,

    Manual erecovery management v2.5

You'll need two blanks dvd. Choice in the menu "Create factory default disc".

Only with this option, you'll be able to install the system on a new blank HDD.

Video Look this video to explain the procedure (it's not the same windows but it's the same "pirnciple").

also you should use an imaging program (there are several free ones) to make an image copy of the <PQservice> factory recovery partition so when the drive does die you can put a copy on the  new drive to maintain the ability to make new recovery disks (the disks only recover the system to a new drive not the recovery partition).
