T232HL wont wake windows 8 from sleep via touch

Hi,

I'm running windows 8 32bit on a Intel atom Ion D525 mini itx board.

I can power on windows from my USB mice and USB keyboard that is connected to the monitor.

But the monitor itself wont.

I follow the acer guide that says to press any other button then the power button and then press the screen but nothing happens.

The motherboard goes into S3 sleep state, could this be the problem?

Or is a driver problem? Because I cant seem to find any drivers for the touch part of the screen only the monitor.

I have the same problem with the same monitor, T232HL.  the only thing I can do to make the touchscreen work again is to reboot the computer.....

    This is interesting.

Because the manual clearly says this is possible.

So nice to know I'm not the only one with this problem. Then it must be a driver issue.

I have tried plugging in a mouse and a usb keyboard in the screens hub and these power up windows just fine.

I have tried to select the HID device in device manager and check the box that says this device may wake the computer up.

    What hardware are you running?

I have noticed this problem as well... I wonder if the computer is going to sleep and is automatically switching to another input? If the monitor is set to HDMI, you won't likely be able to control a computer that is connected via VGA or DVI.

I have perhaps a related issue...

I have two inputs into my monitor: DVI from my computer and HDMI from my Cable box. I can easily select each input using the monitor buttons. The problem is that when the computer is left for a while, the screen goes blank and the monitor automatically switches to HDMI. Of course, the TV ends up being on all night! Has anyone found a way to disable this automatic input search?

I would change my computer's power settings, but I would probably have to keep the computer running at full power 24/7... not the best solution.

    Cheers,

    Fred.
