Hello everybody, I am planning to upgrade my memory(RAM) but I am not that familar with what memory(s) are compatible with my motherboard which is the standard ACER IPIMB-AR. The current memory(RAM) that i have is Adata 4GB 2RX8 PC3-10600U-999. I am planning to dual channel it using 2x4gb though. is 1333Mhz compatible? how about 1600Mhz? or am i missing something that needs further consideration?

Any thoughts? recommendationsSmiley Happy

    hi...

    Here's the memory specification details of your computer :

    Max memory of 16 GB supported (using 4Gb tech).
    Memory slot number 4 slot
    Support Memory size per socket 1GB/2GB/4GB
    Support memory type DDRIII
    Support memory interface DDRIII 1333/1600MHz
    Support memory voltage 1.5V
    Support memory module package 240-pin DDRIII

    You may also download and run Crucial's scanner. This program will tell you everything you need to know about your computer's memory requirements (maximum RAM, largest amout per slot etc) and will even make recommendations for you!
    The link I've provided is for the UK site, but you can change it to where you live, by clicking on the flag in the top right corner.

    Hi Sharanji thanks for your help, but I'm a little confused with what information is correct pertaining to the memory interface that is supported by my motherboard. I searched my motherboard specs in the web and found this http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/specs-ipimb-ar-7h27292011/. In the memory section, it states that only DDR3 1333Mhz is supported. on the other hand, i ran the crucial scanner and this is the results http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/2E0A52EE31D926C3. looking now on the compatible memory upgrades suggested, crucial suggested 1600Mhz memory(s).

    Any thoughts? Smiley Happy

    Hello jaycee95,

    I'm agree with Sharanji about the general memory specifications but this also depends on the CPU.

    For this desktop, you have two motherboards:

    DB.SMV11.001MAIN BD.M1935.W/O.1394.LF
    MB.SJQ0P.001MAIN BD.B75.W/O.1394.LF

    List of CPU mounted in origin:

    KC.21201.CI3CPU.INTEL.I3.2120.3.3G/1333/1155
    KC.21301.CI3CPU.INTEL.I3.2130.3.4G/3M/1333
    KC.23201.CI5CPU.I5-2320.3.0G/6M/1333/1155/95W
    KC.34501.CI5CPU.I5.3450.3.1G.6M.IVY.BRIDGE
    KC.34701.CI5CPU.I5.3470.3.2G.6M.QUAD
    KC.37701.CI7CPU.I7.3770.3.4G.8M.IVY.BRIDGE

    For example (Intel website - memory specifications):

    INTEL I3-2120 --> DDR3-1066/1333

    INTEL I5-2320 --> DDR3-1066/1333

    INTEL I5-3450 --> DDR3-1333/1600

    INTEL I7-3770 --> DDR3-1333/1600

    I advise you to check your CPU specifications to determine the good frequency 1333 or 1600MHz.

    Hi laurent_14,

    I checked my CPU specification and found out that I am using the following:

    Motherboard - MB.SJQ0P.001

    Processor - CPU.I5.3450.3.1G.6M.IVY.BRIDGE

    thus, I can upgrade to DDR3 1333/16000 memory(s) frequency

    Thank you very much for enlightening me Smiley Happy
