Acer Aspire V3 571G 9686 shuts off

My computers OS is Windows 8.1 and recently I have been noticing a random shut off with my computer. I had my computer for over a year and the past few months I have been experiencing problems with my computer shutting down at high battery levels. Now it seems that my computer has to be fully charged at 100 percent before I can unplug it or it randomly shuts down. I have to plug it in each time before I can use it and it still shuts off before it is fully charged. I am not sure if a new battery would fix this or if there is something else I need to do.

Any help would be appreciatedCat Happy

    hi..

First you may perform a power reset, then recalibrate the battery. You may also check if your computer has the latest version of BIOS updated installed.

Follow these steps to perform power reset.
Unplug the AC adapter from your notebook, Turn the notebook over to remove the battery.
Turn the notebook back over and open it, h old down the power button for 30 seconds, then release the power button.
Turn the notebook back over and slide the battery back into place, slide the lock tab back into the lock position.
Turn over the notebook one last time and plug in your AC adapter, Turn on your notebook.

Follow these steps to recalibrate the battery.
Connect your computer to AC power and let the battery charge completely.
Disconnect the AC power and restart your computer, Completely discharge the battery.
After the battery is completely drained, reconnect your computer to AC power.
Charge the battery completely until the battery status indicator indicates that the charging has completed.

Thanks the power reset and recalibration helped a little bit. But it seems that my computer still needs a reset each time it is turned on. Does this mean my battery is no longer holding much of a charge?
