Acer Aspire V3-772g big wireless issue

Hello, so I've bought this Acer laptop, it's model listed above, with the Atheros AR5BWB222 wireless adapter and the WiFi connection drops out every 1-2 mins, even if it shows it's connected with 5 bars. On other devices the same wifi works perfectly fine, but now with this one. I've tried the adapter power options, etc. but nothing helps. I'm thinking of returning this laptop. I hope anyone could help.

    You will need to update the Atheros WiFi driver to the latest version.

    Updating to  win7-10.0.0.255-whql.zip (2528 KB) didn't help

    Hello.

    I have same issues with wifi connection on same laptop model (V3-772G) and same wireless adapter (Atheros AR5BWB222), running Windows 8.1.

    Drivers are up to date and no other device in my network has this problem.

    When connected via ethernet cable connection is stable.

    I've also tried to test Wi-Fi on Ubuntu live cd, disconnecting ocurres also on this OS.

    @d0min0

    That is a Windows 7 driver?  I'm not seeing that listed on the Drivers page for the V3-772G system.

    I do show the following:

    Wireless LAN Atheros Wireless LAN Driver 10.0.0.225 37.6 MB 2013/05/06 Download

    This is WLAN_Atheros_10.0.0.225_W8x64.zip.

    @wnuczu

    I do not support Ubuntu on the product and I have no idea what driver is available for the adapter in Linux.

    for Windows 8.1, I do show this driver:

    Wireless LAN Atheros Wireless LAN Driver 10.0.0.263 251.4 MB 2013/10/09 Download

    This is WLAN_Atheros_10.0.0.263_W8.1x64.zip.

    Thank You for reply.

    Actually i've already installed this version of drivers on Windows 8.1, my problem still occurs.

    Does this issue occur under Windows 8? or only under Windows 8.1?

    This was clean install of Windows 8.1, my Acer was shipped without OS.

    Can you provide for me the serial number or part number of your system, please?

    Do you mean Windows or product serial number?

    I can only work with the system serial number or part number.

    Windows product key doesn't mean anything to me, we're not Microsoft. Smiley Happy

    So, the system that you purchased shipped with Linpus Linux command line only.

    What operating system did you install?

    What upgrades did you perform on the OS?

    When did the WiFi card get installed?  on initial install or only after you installed the driver?

    I've installed Windows 8.1 Proffesional from MSDN (DreamSpark).
    All Windows Updates was installed.

    System at very start allowed to connect to WiFi without installing drivers, but from the start i suffered with disconnections. Than i tried to fix it somehow and i've installed newest one from Acer support page.

    This is how my ping status looks like:

    ping.PNG

    At first i blamed my operator and router, but this problem do not affects any other device that i connect to WiFi.

    For now my only option to get stable connection is to use ethernet cable.

    It seems like you've attempted all of the reasonable items to troubleshoot.  And that ping report looks miserable.

    At this point, I'm unable to suggest anything else from a troubleshooting perspective, and can only suggest that you contact your local Acer service center for assistance.

    I'm on Windows 7 HP 64bit currently on my 772g and I've installed the 10.0.0.270, and it still keeps dropping.

    [SOLVED] found this on internet .. and it works ( driver 10.0.0.256 downloaded from atherosweb )

    Control Panel -> Device Manager.

    View (menu) choose "Show Hidden Devices"

    Network Adapters -> right-click Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter.

    Properties-> Power Management

    Unclick "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
