Hiya a few days ago when i removed my audio jack I noticed the sound didn't return to my speakers. My Drivers are all updated and i rebooted my computer a few times.
I suspect the connector or something in the jack is somehow activated, (that tells the speakers to turn off when headphones plugged in.)
twisted my headphone jack a bit while taking it out and sound returned for a few seconds before disappearing.

took a thin needle to see if anything was stuck but nothing

Is there a setting were i can activate both sound from speakers and headphones so at least i can click it on and off when i switch from speakers to headphones

We have the "Aspire 23101-u4062 with a 21.5" Multimedia Touch Monitor with Full HD 1080p" and when we pull out the Head Set the Internal Speakers DO NOT function. We can plug in external speakers to the Head Phone jack and they work fine. But we can't give spoken audio when we Skype. Only when we have the Head Set pluged in do we hear incoming Audio and can respond to Skype... I've looked at all settings but think, "Is there an F-Key that should be pressed to restore the internal speakers or maybe a Combination of F-Keys being pressed?" Thanks for looking at our issue,,, Jack and Lynne

    Hi Redapple,

I have same notebook (E1.572) with same problem Smiley Sad

No audio from internal speaker, plugging earphones or external speaker suonds are played fine.

I tried to restore Windows 8 to original setting, tried to install Windows 7, changed varoius version of Realtek driver but speakers still don't play.

Strange think is that when I boot up with a Linux distro (Ubuntu 12.04) from a USB drive, audio play correctly both internal speaker & jack; so that I think that the problem is not an hardware failure but something about Relatek driver's setting.

    Have you found a solution?

    Thanks in advance

    Greetings from Italy.
