Mouse problem

Hi there. My brand new Inspire E1 Z5WE3 has a random problem with its mouse. Occasionally the 'click' function on the touchpad and L & R buttons will not work. I can move the cursor around and highlight items, but I cannot click the mouse on them. I've tried the Fn F7 solution but it doesn't work: the mousepad isn't frozen. I have the latest Microsoft Office software operating on Windows 8.1. Any solutions out there please? Martin

Guys - I posted earlier about mouse problems. I've now narrowed down the problem. The mouse jams if I keep the left button depressed whilst scrolling at the same time on the touchpad: for instance if I am highlighting text or dragging something. I can free it by drumming rapidly and repeatedly on the touchpad. Irritating, and can't be right. Can it? Anyone know what this is please? Martin

    Hi,

I have a brandnew Aspire E1-510, still with factory settings. Win 8.1 x64 and the Synaptics driver 17.0.6.13.

I have the exact same problem with clicking while the mouse pointer can still be moved. Up until now I always fixed it by just rebooting (quite annoying), I will try your workaround next time. I hope someone has a more permanent fix - different driver version maybe? It's a shame though that the factory settings don't even work properly.
