From my understanding, the resolution should automatically set. You may try a third party program that allows you to alter the resolution like http://dottech.org/112261/android-review-resolution-changer-app/, or you can try resetting the tablet to see if that helps.

i think its the way the tablet's hdmi works,it doesnt bother me on my tab,but you can still do what clyde suggeted, and use a third party app to adjust it,personally,i just think its the way the hdmi on the tablet communicates  with the hdtv hardware,it may very well be a bug in the system, but im not certain for sure.

well , for the moment i give up with too much tinkering with unknow programs. to me it is related to the 720p resolution in the settings. the screen is 768, not 720. 48 pixels are just the missing one. 720 is enough for the B1 tablet but not for A1. maybe there is a way to enhance the setup. i've found a 4.0 android source code of another mediatek device. i'll start from there.
