acer aspire v7 shuts itself off, will not turn on again

I have an aspire v7-481p that is only several months old. I had turned it on with an usb harddrive attached, and it was running fine without the adapter plugged in. Then, the problem comes as it shuts down all of a sudden as I plugged in the dvd reader device in the usb port.

It won't respond to the power button anymore, and it does not even have a sign, the lcd light, when the adapter is plugged in. It has become lifeless, responding to nothing. What is the problem? Any solution to this?

Would greatly appreciate it with any assistance or suggestion. Thanks!

    Hi enilrahc

I think as your V7 is still under warranty, the best thing is to contact Acer support for your region, and arrange a repair.

It sounds as if there could be a motherboard/power issue.

You could try using another charger, as long as the input/output voltages are the same, but I don't think that would make any difference.

    Hi finlux,

Thank you for the response. I thought I should update on the current state of my computer, it is working fine now. I had taken your advice and talked to an online support agent to determine how to fix the laptop. Following her suggestion, I did a power drain to remove any static electric charges in the system by locating the reset button in the back of the computer and held a paperclip to it for 10-15 seconds. I was able to turn the laptop back on again after that.

    Thanks!
