W510 Keyboard Not Charging?

My Keyboard dock has somehow just stopped charging... the tablet part charges fine when connected directly to the power, but when I connect the power to the dock it doesn't charge anything, neither the keyboard or the tablet, no lights come on at all. It still types fine and the trackpad works, it is just like the power supply to the dock is not working :/

Does anyone know if this could be a hardware or software issue? I have updated to the latest drivers etc, I read on one site something about if the battery drains completely to flat and the bios... I'm not sure..

Its reallt upsetting though as this is only a few months old.

If you plug in the dock by itself, does it charge?

    Thanks for the reply.

The keyboard doesn't charge when plugged in to the power no, regardless of having the tablet connected or not, it doesn't charge at all.

If the keyboard will not charge at all, you need to contact your local Acer technical support so we can get that corrected for you.

My keyboard also does not appar to be charging.  Moreover, if I select the battery icon on the tablet, it says Battery #2 not present.  Device Manager shows 2 battery drivers.  Is there some sort of configuration to activate the keyboard battery or make it available/visible?

My W510 just arrived today and I'm having a similar issue.  However the tablet does charge when connected to the keyboard and power cord is connected to the keyboard, but the battery icon shows it's expecting 2 batteries, but battery 2 is not present and the keyboard indicator stays red .. I've tried with and without the tablet attached and with and without the tablet being shutdown.  I was afraid we got a bad keyboard, even though the rest of the keyboard functions work.

We have deployed almost 1000 of these devices in our dept.  I see this problem regularly, especially when it says battery two not present.  Our quick remedy is swap keyboards onto a second tablet - then swap them back and they will detect again.

I suppose this isn't much help if you only have the one tablet.  I assume a reboot will fix it?
