A1-810 stopped charging (again!)

Cables good, work with other deivses. USB power levels good (have been charging this A810 for months). Been here before, never got satisfactory answer from Acer Smiley Sad Is it time to bin the A810, the laptop and PCs that bare the name and move on? Am feeling well unhappy over the lack of support I have experienced with the A810.

Any advice? aside from simply ship out.

You may have a bad battery,or a defective device,in which case you will have to call customer service to get it repaired or replaced.

Have you tried a soft reset of the Android system using the reset hole in the top of the tablet ?

tried soft reset, also reset to factory image. No avail Smiley Sad Seemingly more likely that the battery has gone of another issue somewhere inside Smiley Sad What is interesting there was a brief trace of power levels increasing in the battery monitor but then it collapsed completely to 1% !

I notice that you say the cable is OK, what about the AC charger which the cable plugs in to, could it be defective and not delivering a charge ?

Ah ha. Left it plugged in but switched overnight and guess what, it is up to 95% charge! So, switched on no charge, swithced off and it charges. No for some application this is ok but not when using it for navigation. Any ideas?

John, sure I have seen this phenomenon before that an android device was not charging when on yet would charge when off or in sleep mode, I seem to remember that the problem was cured with a firmware update.
