WiFi Problems with R7-572

I have an R7-572 with the broadcomm chipset for wifi/bluetooth. Unfortunately I've discovered recently that if I enable bluetooth at all my wifi connection speed drops horribly, we're talking from a 12 MBP/s speed test to 128 KBP/s making wifi essentially unusanle.

I've done everything in the book as of reinstalling drivers, disabling configurations, services, and nothing has come up. I'm running windows 8.1.

I absolutely love this laptop but this is kind of a show stopper issue. Should anyone have any suggestions or such let me know. Thanks.

Have you installed the latest driver for Windows 8.1?

If not, you may download and install the wireless driver from this LINK

Once you download the driver, run the Setup file in the driver folder and restart the laptop.

Did this help? I notice I have a poor wifi connection with the R7-572 just like I did with the 571 (this thread here). I had a terrible experience with the 571 and after many painful calls and waiting for service to repair the laptop, nothing helped. I was able to get a refund. I used the money to buy the 572.

My bluetooth is off though, yet when I am more than 10 feet from my wifi router, my speeds drop by at least 10x.

    This is terrible.

The same trouble here. Yesterday I bought a new R7(Aspire R7-572G-74508G1Tass, Intel Core i7 4500U). Before I thought that all wifi issues have been fixed in new revision. Now I see I am wrong. WIFI is very unstable - the speed connection constantly changes from 65mbit to 2-3 mbit, then increases to 20-30 mbit and again drops to 5-4mbit. When I am testing it on www.speedtest.net I get 2mbit-10mbit range speed (I am 3-4meters from my router). Near the router I get 30-40mbit in speedtest. So it is the exactly same wifi trouble as was in 571!!! Updating drivers (with driveridentifier software) & turning off BT change nothing in my case.

Hey guys, did you tried Device Manager - Network Adapter - Wireless Network Adapter - Properties - power management - uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" It worked for me .... good luck !
