HELP! Acer S7-191 audio (Fn) keys not working after wifi/bt driver/bios update

My machine was prompting me that there was a Wifi/Bluetooth update available from Acer. Having suffered from the BT mouse disconnect issue long enough I gladly installed the Driver/BIOS update.

It seems to have fixed the BT mouse disconnect issue, BUT now my Fn Volume Up/Down/Mute buttons don't work.

I've restarted the machine several times. Even shutdown and powered up again several times (a different thread for similar issue with S7-391 said this solved their problem).

But my S7-191 still has no keyboard volume/mute controls after the wifi/bt driver/bios update.

HELP!!!!!!!

I need my audio buttons!

    Hi davedutah

It sounds as if your "Launch Manager" program isn't running.

If you're Windows 7 - click Start & type MSCONFIG. Click on the result. Now go to the "Startup" tab and look for the program. Make sure it is checked.

If you're Windows 8 - Press Ctrl, Shift & Esc to bring up task manager. Click on the "More Details" option (bottom left). Now click the "Start-Up" tab and look for Launch Manager and make sure it is running.

If the program isn't running, launch your eRecovery Management program (Windows 7 from Start Menu - it will be under Acer, or type erecovery on Windows 8 Start screen). Click on the result. Now click on the "Reinstall Drivers or Applications" option. Locate Launch Manager and reinstall it.

    Hi Dave,

I had the exact same problem -- I depend on the keyboard to adjust my audio levels as well; so, re-download the Realtek audio drivers and do a fresh install.  It solved the problem for me.
