Hi,

I have H430 with WHS and it no longer boots or is visible to network.

I assume I need to try recovery but do not have disk.

Can this be downloaded? I do not see any links anywhere and when entering my serial in some of the support screens, it is not recognized.

I have not checked the drives yet on another PC, but will do soon.

Thanks,

Roger

    Hello Bond007,

The Acer EasyStore H340 series comes with the recovery media and the client software in the box and installed on the home desktop itself. Unfortunately the software cannot be downloaded. According to your post it longer boots or is visible to network. So, the unit power on, but doesn’t past POST [power on self-test] and you’re not able to log into the server. If this is the case you may have a HDD failure. The operating system is located on the first drive which when looking at the Easy Store it the first drive at the bottom[ with a warning label on the front of the drive] if multi-drives are installed. To remove drive properly, please referred to your instruction manual.

Please go to the following and placed an order for the media.

It seems I too am having this problem. It saddens me because I have amassed a huge media collection on my server. I purchased the erecovery thing but I am kind of confused. On the web page link you had said the recovery software would com either an optical disk or USB thumbdrive. This gives me a few things to worry about. My home server has no drives, keyboard video or mouse, does acer send a USB drive with automated recovery software? I probably could manage to get my acer notebook out to try and remote desktop again to set the server back up. or do I use the notebook and connect it to the server via a network cable? directly or via the router? airport express and timecapsules just need you to plug directly in without a crossover or router. Thank you for your guidance,

    Michael

I have the same problem. My H340 nu longer seems to both or connect to the network.

The only light that is on is the blue power ligth.

If I power down, remove the system drive and power up I get some response:

Network flashes for a short time, then the i led and disk in bay 2 and 3 get a red ligth.

I guess this means a dead main disk drive.

lucily I do have backup of all the irreblacable stuff, but not of all the replaceable. Is there any way to extract this from the backup disks? whay type of equipement would I need?

The link in the post I am replying to does not lead aywere meaningfull anymore, so ordering a new systems drive seems to be out of the question. Would that help by the way? Will a clean system ba able to figure out the disk pool setup?
