Acer V3-772G-9402 cannot read 3 harddisks at the same time (2 hdds + mSATA)

Hi All,

I've encountered a problem right now, it seems that the V3  772G cannot read 3 harddisks at the same time.
Is this a BIOS issue?

I was previously using 2 harddisks (2 x 2.5") both are normal harddisks (non-SSDs) and I thought of buying an mSATA SSD for the mSATA slot. When I inserted the mSATA SSD, HDD0 in BIOS displayed as PLEXTOR and my 2nd harddisk went missing.

When I changed AHCI mode to IDE, the 2nd harddisk (non-SSD) displays instead in BIOS and the PLEXTOR ssd is not seen anywhere.

It just seems that I cannot display all 3 at the same time, it would either be HDD1 (Primary) + mSATA SSD or secondary HDD.

It is evident in BIOS that there is a lacking entry for the 3rd harddisk (probably there should be HDD2).

But I have seen other people who claim to have run 3 hdds w/ the mSATA successfully. Do I need to update BIOS? I have 1.05, I've never encountered BSOD with this one and Im afraid to upgrade to a new one as it might cause BSODs.

This sounds to be operating as designed.

I think you will be surprise to find out that mSATA SSD will not be displayed even if you pull second HDD, You will see it in bios only when you have mSADA drive alone... Try it Smiley Happy
