Aspire V3-571 6643 RAM upgrade: total possible, voltage/speed compatibility

I want to upgrade RAM to the most possible in my Aspire V3-571-6643. It came with 4GB RAM.

bay 1 has 1 x 4GB card labeled DDR3 1.5V 4.0R LCN

bay 2 is empty

OS: Win7 pro 64-bit

I can't find on Acer's website or in the documentation any definitive information on what the total RAM can be or it's specifications of voltage/speed, etc.

PC-Wizard's detection results are below.

Crucial "recommends" 2 x 4GB DDR3-1600 SODIMM 1.35V

What's the maximum total RAM possible?

Can 1.35Volt memory replace 1.5Volt?

What speeds are compatible?

The specs I show for this memory are listed below:

MAX: Up to 8 GB SoDIMM 204 Pin

Memory type and speed: DDR3 1066 or 1333

Voltage: 1.5V

Thankyou for your reply. Although I waited a few days for a reply to my forum question, I was under the gun to get more memory. I went ahead and bought Crucial's recommendation:

2x 4GB = DDR3-SDRAM PC3-12800 (800MHz) - [DDR3-1600]

So my new memory is not DDR3 1066 or 1333 as determined from the specs.

Will this be a problem? My laptop seems to be running ok.

Also, where did you find the specs?

Glad to see you got new ram and it is working. The RAM you purchased should work with no problems. The speed is not as important as the type of memory you install. I got the information I provided from the service guide for the product, which is not a public document.
