Hey, i have a problem with my 2 and a half years old acer aspire 7741g, when i press keys (in most cases when it happens) my screen goes black for 2 seconds and i cant hear or do anything on the pc while the screen is black. this may not sound like a whole big issue but it happens like 1 time each 2 minutes, and its really getting on my nerves. Is something wrong with any drivers or something? or is my pc just too old and slowly stops working. i would really like this problemed fixed as i do not have the money to buy a new pc at the moment (even though i need a new one for every reason)

Help me ;_;

    So to start, computers don't slow down, electronics pretty much either work or don't work. With that said, there are some exceptions, such as a stick of memory may have a bad section of RAM, it can work until it gets to the bad section and then havok will ensue. Based on the limited information I have, I would start with looking at your operating system (Windows). Windows can begin bogging down and slowing down as it's collects data, minor errors occur and eventually you have a problem much like the one you've described. This is generally the easiest fix and quickest fix as it doesn't require changing components.

    To recovery your system I would start here: http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12869

    This will show you have to restore the system from Windows, but there are also articles on how to do it outside of Windows, and even create your own backup disks if you'd like. This process takes about an hour and you'll want to back up all your data as it will be erased.

    Thank you for quick reply. i think i will look into doing what u just said. will i have to transfer everything i want to keep on my pc to a memory stick? or will all the files save into a folder named "windows old". because i remember back when i had a different pc and i did that, all the files got "compressed" to small files and put into the windows old folder for me to simply retrieve again.

    Again thanks for quick reply Smiley Happy

    You would need to remove the data. This system will erase everything on the C drive and reload a new image of Windows.

    It did not work so i guess something is wrong with the pc in general, since its the screen that stops working it has 2 be something going on around there, any suggestions?

    What exactly didn't work?

    Also, try restarting the computer, tap F2 when you power it on and go into the BIOS. Let it sit there for 5-10minutes maybe even longer. See if the screen blacks out there. If it does, it's would help us pretty much clarify that it's a hardware problem.

    It only blacks when i press keys, and it does even in BIOS mode. Can the answer be that something UNDER the keyboard isnt right and me pressing 2 much/2 hard it doing something? this is getting worse every day and is beginning to be quite the bother.

    It sounds like there is clearly a hardware problem. It could be anything from the MB, to RAM, to the KB to the cabling. Unfortunately, I would have to suggest contacting your local support team to see what options they have.
