I can't see anything!

I have an Acer Z5600 running Windows 7 64-bit purchased 4 years ago. A few days ago when I turned it on, the Acer screen flashed more quickly than usual. I hear a normal beep and the whirling of the fan, but no picture. Windows does load, because after leaving it on for a while I touch the screen and I briefly can see the desktop as if I ended the screensaver. When I press the button for bios at start up, the bios screen flashes than disappears. Yet, if I press a button that's not connected to a command, a hear the classic bios beep. I also can't get into safe mode; the option screen also flashes too quickly. I've tried the usb bios boot, but it didn't work (maybe because I don't have an fn key?) If anyone has experienced this and/or solved it I would greatly appreciate your input.

Thank you.

    Hi zenjin

I think there may be an issue with the screen, or at least the backlight to the screen.

If you have an external monitor output, then connect a monitor to it to see if the picture displays. Either way, I think a visit to your local PC store might be the case!

The Aspire Z5600 has no display output unfortunately.  Most likely the panels backlight has failed, if you are lucky it is the inverter that has failed instead.

This model requires a skilled hand to dismantle and rebuild so definately best to seek a professionals assistance.  Took me over 2 hours to replace a panel my first time, got it down to 45 minutes in the end...........definitely not for the faint hearted Smiley Happy

    Goodluck !
