I installed latest driver for my M5-581T and I was expecting options like gesture, swipe, edge swipe, etc under the settings tab. There is nothing there? Am I missing something or shoudl I go try Elan? Thanks

It would depend on  the touchpad that is installed on your system. But yes the ELAN drivers/software are the one that has the options for swipe, edge swipe, etc under the Options button.

These options are found by going to the Mouse Properties, ELAN tab, then select Options... From there the Elan Smart-Pad window will pop up and provide you with the different gesture commands/settings. If this tap or windows is not available then you do not have ELAN installed.

Where can I download a better touchpad driver for my Acer Aspire V5-571-6726 ? All this came with is a very limited Elan mouse driver which has no tweeking for touchpad available. I tried installing the TouchPad_ELANTECH driver from Symantecs but ISDN (it still does nothing).

What I mainly find annoying is my tendancy to brush against the touchpad accidently while tryping and losing the curser somewhere up inside the text. My wife's Aspire One had the same problem until I found a better driver from Symantec, and now it's all perfect. I would like to find the same solution for this Apire V-5 (Win7) that I purchased last week.

    Thank You

All Acer's certified and supported drivers can be found if you visit http://www.acer.com/worldwide/. Select your region, click Support, then Drivers and Manuals. From there, enter your SNID/SN or Model and you can select the operating system and driver you want to download.
