Veriton M498G

I cannot get my Veriton M498G to power up.  I replaced the power supply with a spare that I had on hand.  The power supply fan and the CPU fan will run for a few seconds, then shut off.  From what I have read, I think the CMOS needs to be reset.  Can anyone tell me where the CMOS reset is on an M498G, or where I can get a schematic of the motherboard?  Thanks.

    Hi sawfish

If you have the opportunity to try a third PSU, try it!

If your spare power supply is definitely working perfectly (has it been tested elsewhere?) then I think it is likely a mobo problem. Possibly, a capacitor issue, however, I agree it is worth resetting the CMOS.

I do not have access to the M498G's motherboard manual, however the jumper is usually allocated near to the CMOS battery. It is 3 pins (and 2 are covered).

I have found a guide here that should help, just scroll down to Method 2.

If this doesn't make any difference, then I think the motherboard will be at fault.

Thanks for the response.  In the interim, I pulled, cleaned, and checked the voltage of the CMOS battery, and cleaned and reseated all of the memory chips.  After that I had fans, power, etc..  Not sure about this, but I am thinking that removing the CMOS battery for a while, might delete the CMOS memory.  At any rate, everything is up and running now.  Since Micro Center is having a killer sale on some of its power supplies, I picked up a 600 W. Cooler Master, and installed it for good measure.  Thanks for the link, I will save it in case I run into any more trouble.
